Marketing Specialist

The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for executing marketing strategies, assisting with campaign development and will be an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach targets from brand awareness to product promotion, play an integral role in building and engaging our membership and community, and create effective strategies that will promote long-term growth.

Major Duties and Responsibilities


  • Create, write, edit, and design Credit Union publications and marketing materials, and press releases, ensuring style consistency & accuracy. 
  • Develop advertising, including writing copy and graphic design to promote sales of Credit Union products and services.
  • Prepare online campaigns including search, display, email, social and in-branch campaigns.    
  • Conceive and execute drip marketing programs.
  • Maintain design files appropriately (maintenance & archiving). 
  • Coordinate special events; monitor planning, schedule and implementation as required for proper execution of each event.  
  • Prepare internal communications & training program materials related to marketing promotions or campaigns.
  • Ensure creative marketing materials undergo regular review and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Maintain & ensure appropriate stock levels of branch merchandising & Member communication supplies.
  • Coordinate community relations events; monitor planning, schedules and implementation as required for proper execution of each event.
  • Plan and execute public relations activities.        

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience:  Two to Five years of similar or related experience.
  • Education:  Equivalent to a college degree and a professional certificate or a graduate degree.
  • Interpersonal Skills:  Ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation is an important part of the job.
  • Other Skills:                                             
    • Strong graphic design and desktop publishing skills.
    • Must be able to travel independently and operate all types of general office equipment including PC.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
    • Strong initiative & creativity for independent work projects.
    • Utilize MCIF system for target marketing and analysis.
