To effectively analyze, underwrite, monitor and fund indirect loans. This position also requires
substantial experience with high volume automobile lending and expertise in identifying possible fraud
transactions or other methods used in jeopardizing credit quality, as well as experience in analyzing proof of income/tax returns and the ability to process/underwrite consumer loan transactions.
Interview, underwrite, decision and close various complex indirect or other consumer loan transactions.
Monitors dealership transactions ensuring compliance with management directives and underwriting procedures.
Monitors compliance with indirect lending procedures. Performs various post-funding review tasks and other Quality Assurance reviews.
Develops and maintain good partnerships with participating automobile dealerships to enhance and maintain credit union market share.
Performs other duties as may be deemed necessary for the effective and efficient function of the Department or Credit Union.
Works with information systems to coordinate processing needs. Makes recommendations other post-review process toward improving the underwriting process, automated system underwriting parameters or other post-review process.
Experience: A typical background for obtaining the requisite knowledge, abilities and experience is five years to ten years of similar or related experience along with the required education.
Education: A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
Skilled knowledge in underwriting complex indirect loan transactions and excellent communication skills in discussing decisions or other requirements needed to close transactions.
Must have seasoned working knowledge of regulations affecting indirect & direct lending.
Must have excellent communication skills able to effectively discuss credit and decision issues.
Must be able to maintain a good working rapport with various dealerships.
