    The I.S. Technology Specialist will support and assist with daily operations of the Credit Union's Information Services to provide timely support to end users. The I.S. Technology Specialist will perform computer operator functions in support of various systems. Develops and maintains documentation on all departmental procedures. Responsible for providing basic technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Manages help desk requests for department, including but not limited to, gathering of information from requestor, assigning task to appropriate staff, and follow-up as needed.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    Help Desk Support                                                                                

    • Primary associate to answer all support calls/requests.
    • Other I.S staff will provide backup support as needed.
    • Provide technical assistance, support and follow up relating to incoming requests and issues.
    • Interact with internal associates and credit union volunteers to resolve basic help desk issues; communicate in a professional manner maintaining confidentiality and respond in a timely manner.
    • Diagnose the root cause of issue when creating the request ticket and complete or route Accordingly if additional assistance is needed.
    • Responsible for administration of internal IS help desk system.
    • Assist in the administration and maintenance of internal application systems.

    Projects

    • Will be responsible for completion of annual assigned projects.

    Other Duties

    • Provide “on-call” support after hours on weekdays and on Saturday (as needed).
    • Perform core system release updates and assist with basic system maintenance.
    • Perform on/off boarding duties as needed.
    • Periodic User privileges review and update.
    • Basic Report generator duties as needed.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Skills

    Experience: Two or more years of similar or related experience.

    Education: BA/BS college degree or related experience

    Interpersonal Skills:  

    • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
    • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
    • Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
    • Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

    Other Skills:

    • Core banking system experienced required. Episys (Symitar) system experience preferred.
    • Basic understanding of HTML, Java, .ASP, SQL and other programming language skills preferred.
    • Basic understanding of network fundamentals preferred.
    • Strong experience working in an agile environment required.

    • Experience and knowledge of high availability systems and 24/7 data center operations highly preferred.
