Role

Responsible for the administration and development of  all branches and overseeing sales and service. Implement appropriate policies, procedures, and training to ensure efficient and effective Branch operations.  Oversee Sales & Service including member experience. Supervise Branch budgets, business performance and promote optimal and cost-effective operations. Ensure that members are promptly and professionally served. Assist with the development and implementation of Branch marketing programs.  Oversee provision of a full range of services to members and prospective members.  Direct and appraise Regional Branch Managers, Branch Managers and Assistant Floating Managers. This position reports to the EVP/ COO for Southland Credit Union and is based in Los Alamitos, CA but requires travel to all Southland locations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct, coach, motivate, hire, discipline staff and terminations; administer performance evaluations and recommend appropriate staff actions.
  • Monitor and track Branch Sales & Service performance including operating results relative to established objectives and goals. Ensure appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions. Prepare branches for annual internal and external audits/examinations. Produce written operational procedures for consistency across branches and exceptional and confident staff to offer uniquely personal Southland member service.
  • Maintain communication with all areas of credit union to establish positive working partnerships for member service enhancements. Prepare and submit standard reports; attend scheduled management meetings
  • Monitor all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Ensure budgets are met and goals are attained.
  • Represent the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups. Monitor Branches/community/university/marketing events for professionalism in order to meet goals and success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

 

Experience:                           

Eight to ten years of similar or related experience in Branch Operations Management.

 

Education:                              

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

 

Interpersonal Skills:              

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.  Work will involve motivating or influencing others.  Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities becomes necessary.

 

Other Skills:                          

Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products. Understanding of all Branch operations and functions. Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of MS Office Suite products required.
