Role

Plays a vital role in delivering exceptional service to members while providing financial solutions tailored to their individual needs. This position requires advanced knowledge of credit union products and services, as well as the ability to handle complex transactions, resolve member inquiries, and cross-sell financial products. The Financial Service Representative III is expected to be a leader within the branch, offering guidance and training to less experienced staff while maintaining a high standard of member service.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifies cross sell opportunities and cross-sells all C.U. products and services, including 
    account related products such as, but not limited to, credit life, credit disability, MBI,
    GAP, AD&D, etc. Perform necessary file maintenance to set up accounts and services.
    Assists members with opening and closing savings, checking certificates, IRAs, and other 
    depository service accounts (limited cash handling). Perform necessary file maintenance to
    set up accounts and services.
  • Coordinate with Branch Manager to open and close in the absence of management. Assist 
    Management with the monitoring of sales for all referral objectives. Provide efficient sales
    and service training to peers. Assist management with escalated member issues when
    assistance is needed. Provide overrides to staff as needed, vault duties, and balancing branch
    totals. Acts as a lead in branch activities in the absence of or in conjunction with,
    the Branch Management team.
  •  Assist members and potential members with loan requests, takes loan applications, process 
    loan documents for in-person closing or shipment via mail, including preparation of loan
    records and data set up on computer system. Review of any conditions required for loan approval
    with members and obtain necessary documentation. Forward exceptions to a an
    Officer if automatic system approval is not received. Follow up on unclosed member loans
    that cannot be completed at the initial meeting. Assures that appropriate records are maintaine
    and required reports are prepared. Collect and forward taxes on all vehicle loans.
  • Set up and input file maintenance for check orders, payroll deduction, automatic transfers and 
    ACH origination.
  • Monitors lobby activity to ensure prompt, professional service. Performs all duties within 
    procedures, policies, and SCU's Universal Performance Standards. Performs other related
    duties assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial services, preferably in a credit union or banking environment. Experience in member service, loan processing, and/or financial sales required.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or higher in business, finance, or a related field preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant
level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an
important part of the job.

 

Other Skills:
• Strong knowledge of credit union products and services, including lending, deposits, and digital banking.
• Ability to resolve member concerns effectively and professionally
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with members, colleagues, and management.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in using financial software, digital banking platforms, and standard office equipment (computers, phones, etc.).
• Leadership potential and ability to mentor and support team members.

Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Closed daily: 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
